This year Studio Kids sessions will focus on the environment. Sessions will all have different themes but will bring a special focus to reusing and recycling materials to make art with. Please think about this when you gather materials and try to ‘shop at home’. Use things you already have, and raid the junk drawer, instead of buying all new.
Soar back in time with this hands-on class where we learn to build and decorate traditional paper kites! Using recycled paper, natural twine, and lightweight sticks or bamboo, kids will explore the art and science of flight. They'll design, assemble, and personalize their own working kites while learning about wind, balance, and sustainability. Weather permitting, we’ll finish the session by taking our creations outside for a group launch!
The class will be tailored to the individual student and their abilities.
Basic art supplies are included in the course fee.
*Students are asked to bring a few items from home that could be recycled into art. The studio will also have some of these materials available.
Please review registration policies prior to finalizing your registration.
